Buhari -We may negotiate with Boko Haram

The Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, on Friday, disclosed in an interview with the BBC, that the Federal Government has said that it is open to negotiations with the Boko Haram sect in order to find a lasting solution to the security crisis in the country, if the group is willing.

In the interview, Adesina said the Federal Government was not ruling out negotiations with the sect if it would put an end to the activities of the group, stating that the insurgents had attacked so many villages and killed scores of people.
When BBC asked if the Federal Government was considering negotiations with the insurgent group, Adesina said:
“If they are willing, why not? You know attempts have been made for negotiations in the past and they didn’t work. Every reasonable person would want to see the end to this insurgency. So if they are willing, why not? You can’t rule that out.”
“These were very vicious attacks. People were killed in scores and it’s so sad,” he said.

The President had during his inauguration speech said he had launched a strategy to deal with the sect by relocating the military headquarters to Maiduguri, Borno State.

When asked if this would work, Adesina replied:
“This is going to work. There are machineries being put in place. It’s going to work. The recent killings by the sect were meant to break our resolve, to weaken it, but that will stop. It remains a priority to him (Buhari) to deal with the group.
“You will notice that his first two weeks of administration were dedicated to tackling the insurgency. He visited Chad and Niger Republics and the following week, the Presidents of those countries also visited him in Abuja.
“The President of Benin Republic and the Defence Minister of Cameroon visited him; machinery is being put in place and once we’re through, we will see the end of the group. The target time for the deployment of the multinational force is July ending; that is in a couple of weeks.”

JESUS DID NOT DIE FOR YOU TO

8 ways to attain greatness....

JESUS DID NOT DIE FOR YOU TO
• LET SIN HOLD YOU DOWN

Sin serves as yoke that holds you down.
Eg.
You want to attain a particular position but someone gains access to info on your nasty past that disqualifies you. Why should there be something that can be used against you when trying to attain heights?

• REGULARLY THINK OF WAYS TO COVER YOUR TRACKS

Instead of thinking of new steps to take, you end up spending half of your time covering up mistakes. It's very limiting having that kind of everyday life, optimum capabilities can't be explored that way

• SEE LIFE AS HARD AND CRUEL

There are a thousand ways around situations and problems. Life isn't hard, life isn't cruel all it needs is tapping wisdom at every point on how to go about things

• SEE LIFE AS MEANINGLESS
There's so so much meaning in life, so much to do, so much to explore, live it to the fullest

• LIVE WITHOUT PURPOSE
Don't go about without direction, all you'll end up with is wasted years

• LET A PERSON RULE YOU AND HOW YOU LIVE YOUR LIFE

Never let a HUMAN BEING rule you, not even your parents, they didn't give you life, they simply serve as a means to bring wonderful you into the world. They can guide you, protect you, help and aid you but at the end they would be gone someday.

• BE DISREGARDED AND DEVALUED
Never ever let whoever says whatever to put you down succeed. Your value is still very much what you God put in there, so whatever you call it is what I is and is never to be determined by anyone else

•  BE UNHAPPY WITHOUT SOMEONE
No, This is a no no. No one should rule your happiness. Someone making you happy is simply a bonus, you can still be happy without the person.

According to Mail Online, the blast killed the bombers and injured two people.
The report further states:
The hospital is one of the few public buildings in an area called Molai, which is on the outskirts of Maiduguri and where security is not always as tight as in the centre of the state capital of Borno.
Osinbajo was visiting a camp about 10 km (6 miles) away that houses some of the 1.5 million people displaced by Boko Haram during the militant group’s six-year fight to establish an Islamic caliphate in the northeast.

On walking in on Bruce Jenner dressing as a woman at the age of 22
I was shaking. I didn’t know if I’d just found out his deepest, darkest secret, and he was going to come after me.” Jenner called her on the phone a half hour later, and said, “One day, I’ll talk to you about this. Until then, don’t tell a soul.” Eight years later, he said, “Let’s have that talk.
Before Kim’s wedding to West, Kardashian talked to Kanye about it. “I wasn’t sure if Bruce was going to be comfortable walking me down the aisle,” she says. “He had just had his trachea shaved, so I knew something was going on.” She was afraid of what West might think, but West calmed her concerns. “[Kanye] obviously moves to his own drum,” she says. “He lives his life the way he wants, a really authentic life, and he was like, ‘If you can’t be authentic and you can’t live your life, what do you have?’ ”

It was surreal, with Johnnie Cochran and Robert Shapiro and all these guys having meetings at my dad’s house,” Kim says. We’re in major confidentiality, so I can’t talk about it,” Kardashian says of the culprit. Does she still think about the fact that a great deal of humanity has seen her in flagrante? “I don’t really think about it,” she says quietly. “I thought about it for a long time. But when I get over something, I get over it.
On why Rob Kardashian left the spotlight
It’s not that mysterious, what’s happening with Rob,” Kardashian says. “He has gained weight. He feels uncomfortable being on the show, and that’s OK. Do I think he smokes weed, drinks beer, hangs out and plays video games with his friends all day long? Yes.

Court throws out Jimi Agbaje's petition against Ambode

The petition that was filed against Ambode on April 30th 2015 has been throw out by a three-man tribunal, sitting in Ikeja, They dismissed Agbaje’s petition on Wednesday, July 1, 2015.
The PDP candidate’s case was thrown out after the tribunal, led by Justice Muhammad Sirajo, agreed with the preliminary objection raised by the plaintiff’s counsel, Wole Olanipekun that the petition was incompetent.
According to documents filed by the PDP candidate’s lawyers, the petitioners are contesting Ambode’s victory on three grounds:
1, INEC’s non-compliance with Section 7 of its own 2015 Election Guidelines which provides for the use of card readers in all polling units.
Agbaje is therefore seeking the cancellation of the results of all polling units where card readers were not used.
2, APC’s non-compliance with Section 85 of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended) which stipulates that a party must give INEC 21 days notice of the convention where it intends to choose its governorship candidate.
APC’s letter notifying INEC of the convention where Ambode was elected was submitted on November 18, 2014 while he was chosen as the party’s candidate on December 4, 2014, 5 days shy of the official requirement.
3, Ambode’s allegedly conflicting claims of his state of origin. Agbaje is alleging that the APC candidate stated in his JAMB form (REG No: 646789) that he’s from Ilaje Local Government Area in Ondo State while in his governorship form, he claims, under oath, to be from Epe in Lagos State.
It will be recalled that Agbaje place a call to Ambode after his victory.

Petr Cech revealed he could have joined Arsenal as a teenager

New Arsenal signing Petr Cech has revealed on the club's official website that he was close to joining the Gunners more than a decade ago.

He made the switch to the Emirates on Monday, for a fee assumed to be around £10.9m, having spent most of last season on the bench for Chelsea after Thibaut Courtois returned from his loan spell at Atletico Madrid to claim the first-choice keeper's spot.

However, things could have turned out very differently, as the Czech stop-stopper reveals that he nearly came to the Gunners as a teenager in the early 2000s.
Talking to Arsenal Player, he said: “There was a chance before I went to France [to join Rennes] that I could sign for Arsenal but I was only 18 or 19 and at that time Czech Republic were not in the European Union.

“You needed a work permit and the conditions were to play 75 per cent of the first-team games for the national team, which at the time was impossible for me to get. In the end I went to France because I couldn’t get a work permit.

“I had a few teams who were interested but Arsenal was one of the main ones. I was so excited because of the Premier League and big clubs but unfortunately it was not the time for me to come.

Okonjo Iweala replies Governor Oshiomole

Immediate past Minister of Finance Ngozi Okonjo Iweala has responded to allegations that she spent $2.1 billion from the Excess Crude Account without the approval of the National Economic Council. While speaking  to newsmen after the inauguration of the National Economic Council yesterday June 29th, Governor Adams Oshiomole  accused the former minister of spending  $2.1 billion from the Excess Crude Account without the necessary authorization.
"We looked at the numbers for the Excess Crude Account. The last time the former Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mrs Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, reported to the council, and it is in the minutes, she reported by November 2014 that we had $4.1 bn. Today, the Accountant-General Office reported we have $2.0bn.
Which means the honourable minister spent $2.1bn without authority of the NEC and that money was not distributed to states, it was not paid to the three tiers of government,” Adams Oshiomhole said
However in a statement released and signed by her spokesperson Paul Nwabuikwu today June 30th, Dr Okonjo-Iweala said there was no authorized spending from the Excess Crude Account under her watch as Minister of Finance. She described the allegations as a political witch hunting.
"It is curious that in their desperation to use the esteemed National Economic Council for political and personal vendetta, the persons behind these allegations acted as if the constitutionally recognized FAAC, a potent expression of Nigeria’s fiscal federalism, does not exist. But Nigerians know that collective revenues, allocations and expenditures of the three tiers of government are the concern of the monthly FAAC meetings. It is important to acknowledge the efforts of governors who are working hard to overcome the current revenue challenges facing their states without resorting to character assassination and blame games.
It is clear that this is the latest chapter of a political witch-hunt by elements who are attempting to use the respected National Economic Council for ignoble purposes having failed abysmally in their previous attempts to tar the Okonjo-Iweala name.  It will be recalled that one of such attempts took place in May when some of these governors, hiding under the auspices of the Nigerian Governors Forum asked Okonjo-Iweala to explain $20 billion alleged to be missing from the same ECA. The Finance Ministry subsequently issued a news release and published an advertorial in national newspapers on May 25, 2015 giving details of what the Federal Government and states received from the ECA in the last four years. It also provided details of the use of the funds for payment of petrol subsidies for the Nigerian public and SURE-P allocations to the three tiers for development purposes.
After the publication, the accusers lost their voice. But the latest allegations show that these persons are still in the business of throwing up wild, unsubstantiated figures to damage Okonjo-Iweala’s name. For instance, within the last few months, Governor Oshiomhole and his fellow travelers have asked Okonjo-Iweala to account for “missing” $30 billion, $20 billion and now $2.1 billion. What they don’t seem to understand is that the strategy has lost all credibility because the falsehood is clear for all to see.  How can some governors who fought FG’s efforts to leave robust savings in the ECA and even took the Federal Government to court over the matter turn around to make such unfounded allegations? The world knows that it was Okonjo-Iweala who pioneered, during her first stint as Minister of Finance in the Obasanjo administration, the practice of publishing monthly updates of all allocations to different tiers of government in order to empower Nigerians with information and knowledge of government revenues and expenditure.
This enabled the Nigerian public to ask questions about the utilization of these resources. Of course many elected and appointed public officials were not happy with this development. She continued this practice when she returned in 2011 and even added periodic updates on the Excess Crude Account, subsidy payments for verified claims by oil marketers for fuel imports as well as SURE-P payments to the three tiers of government. Against this background, the idea that she spent $2.1 billion “without authorization” is simply not credible given that details of government receipts and expenditure are public knowledge. We believe that Nigerians are too smart to be hoodwinked by this partisan desperation to tar the name of Okonjo-Iweala. In the interest of the country, we advise that public officials should avoid the temptation to politicize economic issues so that balanced analysis can lead to real solutions.”the statement read

APC rates Buhari high after one month in office

National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, who spoke at a parley with newsmen in Lagos said that contrary to what was being discussed in some quarters, there has been great movement in President Buhari’s first month in office and urged Nigerians to prepare for events that would unfold in the days ahead in the anti-corruption fight of the President Buhari administration.
He said:
“Nigerians should grab a front row seat so they can watch clearly as events unfold in the ring of anti-corruption fight in the days ahead. It will no longer be business as usual as the Buhari administration seeks to make sure that every kobo of national funds is spent for the benefit of Nigerians, not to fill the deep pockets of a few fat cats.
“The rot met by the Buhari administration is sickening, and the President is working hard to plug all loopholes for siphoning public funds, in addition to recovering looted public funds.”
“Nigerians now know that the cash in the Excess Crude Account has been depleted by $2 billion without explanation. A panel of four governors has been set up to investigate what happened to the money that was not remitted to the Federation Account,” Mohammed said.
He said it was noteworthy that some Western nations had also assured the Buhari administration of all possible assistance in its efforts to recover the billions of Naira stashed away by public officers in the past.

The APC spokesman said that this was just the beginning of the fight against corruption, urging Nigerians to await more unfolding events.

He argued that President Buhari, in the last one month, has started work in tackling insecurity and fighting terrorism.
He said:
“The President travelled to Chad and Niger, and then hosted a summit of the Lake Chad Basin Commission that comprised Cameroon, Chad and Niger, with Benin also invited.
“The result is the decision to deploy the Multi National Joint Task Force (MNJTF), with headquarters in N’Djamena, Chad, on July 30 to pep up the fight against Boko Haram.
“President Buhari has also rallied the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) to work with Nigeria in battling the Boko Haram insurgency.
“A joint summit of leaders of both economic blocs is to be held shortly to concretise these efforts that will complement the one by Nigeria and its neighbours.
“President Buhari also travelled to Germany to meet with G7 leaders to present to them a wish list that included getting their support for the battle against Boko Haram. The leaders of the countries affected by the Boko Haram insurgency have compiled their requirements which are being forwarded to the G7 for appropriate action.
“While waiting for that, the US has announced a $5 million assistance for the fight against insurgency and the relocation by the Nigerian military of the command centre to Maiduguri. These are no mean achievements.”
Mohammed also said that the Buhari administration had availed itself credibly within one month of assuming office by bringing Nigeria back to the comity of respected nations.

He said that some leaders who once shunned Nigeria have started inviting President Buhari to visit their countries.
He said:
“The latest is the US President Barack Obama, who will play host to our President at the White House on July 20. There is no better indication of how much Nigeria is regaining its lost glory than the recent election of former Agriculture Minister, Mr Akinwumi Adesina as the President of the African Development Bank (AfDB).”
Mohammed noted that in spite of the laudable achievements of the Buhari administration in the last one month, Nigerians were right to demand even a faster pace.

He said:
“Nigerians are right and justified in their expectations. All we ask for is a little more patience, a little more understanding and continuous support for the Buhari administration.
“We in the APC hereby assure our compatriots, who have expressed their concerns in recent times, that there is no cause for alarm. The Buhari administration is willing, determined and able to effect the change that Nigerians voted for, despite the initial challenges.”

“God Is All Knowing And Never Makes Mistakes” – Adesuwa Onyenokwe On Same Sex Marriage Legalization

TW publisher Adesuwa Onyenokwe shared her thoughts on the recent legalization of gay marriage in the US. Read below;
I wonder if people have really thought about the implications of the American Supreme Court judgement in favour of gay marriages across the USA. Before that decision and Obama’s accent to the law, it was illegal in only 37 of the 52 states! However this development is a ‘yes’ that may ripple around the world because the USA is the world’s big brother.
They sneeze the rest of the world catches a cold. So that’s where my concern lies. Being gay will soon become ‘fashionable’.

Gay people are humans first and I respect that, but if it were a desirable state, then God wouldn’t have “created them , male and female” as the bible teaches! So I believe. Because God is all knowing and never makes mistakes, He also must have created gay people too, just like He created the sick and the poor that Christ says will always be with us!
What do we do with people with one defect or the other? We love them and help them live better lives, not legislate that their condition is acceptable. In other words I believe just like people with Downs Syndrome, for example, are minus one chromosome; people that exhibit gay tendencies are plus or minus one hormone either way.
With more female hormones (estrogen), a guy can be effeminate, and with more male hormones (testosterone), a girl can be masculine. My layman’s theory obviously but it is simple logic. It is also simple logic that if all men married men and women married women, where would the babies come from?
Maybe petri dishes in the laboratories? I know some will say not everyone is gay, but I wonder for how long that will be, because we all have tendencies to be adventurous and we may have many more people experimenting and going the lesbian or homosexual way.
The fact that it is taboo holds quite a number of people back from even trying it. When it comes to the human desires our bodies can be traitors and take pleasure from even the most bizarre, depending how far we are willing to go.
Barriers help reign our potentially wild desires in. My summary is that anyone can be gay. Period. Though the tendency may be higher in some than in others, still it is a matter of taste and sight. Also some might say barrier or not there are those who will try it anyway, I say yes but is that why we should make it a free way?
Please note I am not for discrimination against anyone whether I support their sexual preferences or not. They sure have rights. Since I do not understand ‘it’ forgive me if I say maybe they should seek more avenues to finding a ‘cure’ or a best way to manage ‘it’ otherwise, I fear the human specie may just go extinct like Pope Francis has rightly pointed out.
But like my 19 year old son says “God created the world and He can surely fix it”, but then He needs human eyes, ears, hands and feet to do so, which is why I am sharing my opinion hoping it would change a few minds to have us all canvassing that this condemnable law doesn’t ripple anywhere near our shores!
